Ustadh Sean Blevins
Outdoor Instructor
Ustadh Sean Blevins joined the Annoor Academy of Knoxville team in June 2021 as the Vice Principal (7-12) and language arts department dead, playing an integral role in the design and launch of Annoor Academy high school. He has over a decade of experience in Knox County Schools as a high school teacher, instructional leader, and teacher evaluator. Prior to working at Knox County Schools, he taught history of world religions at the University of Tennessee and worked as an environmental educator at Knoxville’s Ijams Nature Center.
Over the years, he has earned a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, master’s degrees in both philosophy and English education, and an education specialist (Ed.S.) degree in instructional leadership. In addition to his work as a classroom teacher, Ustadh Sean completed the National Outdoor Leadership School’s (NOLS) leadership training expedition in Alaska in 2019 and is a NOLS certified wilderness first responder. Every August he leads high school students on a backpacking trip through Wyoming’s Wind River Range, and every February takes middle school students snorkeling, kayaking, and biking through the Florida Keys and Everglades.
